Morocco

A motorbike standing next to a pink wall in the Marrakech Medina, Morocco.
2010: The 16km of ancient walls and Babs (gates) that enclose the Medina in Marrakech date back to the 12th century. Within these pinkish coloured walls is a labyrinth of narrow alleys that challenge even the best navigator. The sights contained within the Medina are an assault on the senses and include traditional riads, lively souks (bazaar), native gardens and tanneries. It’s best to be on your guard whilst walking in the Medina as motorbikes and scooters hurtle around at break-neck speeds, irrespective of whether you are in the way or not.
